Quick Guide for New Students

  1. Most important account in your university life – OnePass (CWEM) Account
    Get your OnePass account on Computing Account Information (CAI) Slip (not yet collected?). You can then enjoy different IT services – @Link E-mail Service, WiFi and VPN services, MyCUHK and CUSIS (University Portal). You can change your password at http://cai.itsc.cuhk.edu.hk/chgpwd.
  2. Your student ID card – CU Link Card
    Come to CU Link Card Centre (Room 804, 8/F, Wu Ho Man Yuen (WMY) Building to collect your CU Link Card (student ID card) when it is ready. Also, don’t forget to get your PIN through the CU Link Default PIN Enquiry System.
  3. Save your mobile data – Get Network Access On and Off Campus
    You have free WiFi Service on campus with your OnePass account. Also, you can register to get the Off-campus WiFi service now!
  4. Get your University Email and 1 TB cloud storage –@Link & Office 365
    You can stay connect with the University through emails. Check out your emails from the 50GB @Link mailbox. Your default email address is student-ID@link.cuhk.edu.hk. You may define another email address ONCE at http://cai.itsc.cuhk.edu.hk/alias (via campus network / CUHK VPN).
    Also, you can get 1 TB free cloud storage and download the latest Microsoft Office suite in CUHK Office 365.
  5. Protect Your Device – Install Free Anti-Virus Software
    Never disclose or share your password to anyone and be alert to phishing emails and fraud websites. You can also enjoy a free copy of Kaspersky Anti-Virus software from us!
  6. Your Academic Partners- MyCUHK, CUSIS & eLearning
    Manage personal particulars, do course registration and other academic activities though MyCUHK (http://portal.cuhk.edu.hk/). Get learning materials through CU eLearning System (Blackboard) if your course instructor is using it.
  7. Save your money- Notebooks and Software at Discounted
    Don’t miss the special discounts for purchase of notebooks, software and computing accessories between mid-August and mid-October. Visit the Roadshows on main campus and Prince of Wales Hospital in early September.
  8. IT Facilities in CUHK – PCs, Printing, Scanning & More
    We’ve got PCs, printers, scanners and projectors in User Areas (1/F Pi Ch’iu Building) and Learning Commons (6/F Wu Ho Man Yuen Building). Why not having your study / project discussion there?
