Check your network cable connecting between the port on the wall and your device.
If the network cable is damaged, please replace it with another Straight-Through network cable. You can find shop location at ITSC homepage

Check Access Point LED signal light on the front surface, it is normal if the signal light is green
Check the network cable between Access Point port and device.
If network cable is damaged, please replace another Straight-Through network cable. The information of the network cable can be purchased in the description in ITSC homepage .

Q2. I cannot connect to Internet after setting up a network equipment in a port, such as router and hub etc.
A2: Refer to our use policy, setting up routing or other special network functions is prohibited. Please remove all your personal network devices and connect your computer to the network port provided

A3. Please check as the following:
Check Access Point LED signal light on the front surface, it is normal if the light green
Q6. Cannot connect to CUHK1x
A6. Please refer to ResNet (Student Hostel Network) coverage (If your hostel is using ISP Wired Broadband Service, CUHK1x will cover the common areas only). For hostel using ResNet (i.e. NOT using ISP Wired Broadband Service), please check if you can receive the CUHK1x Wi-Fi network at the corridor and check your login account format and your setup.
Q7. Mac or other apple device users could find who are using ResNet in the neighborhood, e.g. the office printer. Would it induce a security problem?
A7: This is the built-in file and print feature of Mac OS. Users can disable from the “System Preferences” -> “Sharing” . Besides, for a better security measure, users are recommended to enable the firewall feature under “System Preferences”->”Security & Privacy”
