If you are leaving CUHK, ITSC will notify you before your account is deactivated. Please complete the following tasks before your final working day.
Action 1 – Back Up Personal Data
After you leave CUHK, your OnePass account and associated data will be deleted. Please back up any personal data you wish to keep, and refrain from copying University records or confidential files. For example,
Please contact ITSC Service Desk if you need assistance transferring Zoom recordings or Qualtrics projects.
Action 3 – Update Sign-in and Recovery Information for Third-Party Accounts
If you have used your CUHK email address to register for third-party services (e.g. an Apple ID), please update the sign-in and recovery information to maintain access and business continuity.
Action 4 – Transfer Project Account Ownership
If you manage any project or other non-staff account(s), please update the account owner or coordinator information so that the new responsible staff member can receive renewal notifications promptly.
To ensure a smooth departure process, please return all University-owned hardware and software, and remove licensed software from your personal devices where applicable.
Uninstall any software acquired through the campus-wide software licence programme, such as Microsoft 365 desktop apps and Kaspersky, from your personally owned computers
Inform your department about any software licences acquired separately, such as Power BI Pro
Return all University-owned devices, such as laptops
Return the Duo 2FA hardware token if it was ordered by your department
Return your CU Link Card to the Card Centre
Action 6 – Clear IP Phone Voice Messages
Clear any voice message on your IP Phone.
Action 7 – Apply for an Account Extension
If needed, you may apply for an account extension as a short-term buffer period, subject to department approval. In principle, such requests are accepted only for final job handover or to bridge the gap to your next confirmed employment at CUHK.
