ITSC cooperates with departments to install people counter to provide a cost effective and reliable way to count people in different areas / premises on campus.
The service utilizes the IP-based technology. It is easy to install, simple to manage, and remotely controllable.
Easy installation and remote control The IP-based structure allows easy hardware installation.
In addition, the system can be connected to the internet. This makes remote monitoring by authorized persons possible, at anywhere and anytime.
Lessened burden of system management Statistics is recorded and stored at the server of ITSC. ITSC will back up the data, and administer the system security, to ensure the best protection of facilities.
Integration with Central Network-based Surveillance Camera System People counting services can integrate with Central Network-based Surveillance Camera System seamlessly, to give a one-stop security solution.
In different stages of the service, ITSC has different roles:
During the planning phase, ITSC acts as a consultant. We work with the vendor, cabling contractor, EMO and departments to prepare price quotations for department procurement. This includes arranging site visits and providing reference tenders.
Once the department places an order and the devices are delivered, ITSC takes care of pre-configuring the devices. We also coordinate the installation process and ensure that the devices are connected to the network properly.
After the installation is complete, ITSC generates reports and creates user accounts for departments to access the usage report. We also provide technical support for system usage. If there are any hardware failures or cabling issues, ITSC estimate the cost for departments to communicate with the vendor subsequently.
Please allocate a budget for the initial setup costs, which include the following:
People Counting Device: This includes the cost of acquiring the device itself and the charges for its installation.
Cabling Work: This covers the expenses associated with the necessary cabling work required for the system setup.
Configuration Charge: This refers to the fee for configuring the People Counting Device and ensuring its proper functioning.
Departments will be provided with an account to access the usage reports. If multiple People Counting devices are installed, departments have an option to use a single account to view reports for all devices or create separate accounts for different devices/locations.
Departments can reset the time counter based on 12 different timeslots, such as 0:00, 2:00, 4:00, and so on. This configuration service is provided for free during the first two months after implementation.
Departments use the assigned accounts to view graphs displaying daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly usage data. They can also download the data, only the in, out and net user number at different time intervals, for further analysis. However, access to this information and data is restricted to the CUHK network for security reasons.
