Update on Microsoft 365 Storage Limit

Microsoft recently has announced “Storage Changes for Microsoft 365 Education | Microsoft Education”. This change affects higher education institutions worldwide, including CUHK. Under the new terms, cloud storage limit for Microsoft 365 Education Suite for OneDrive, SharePoint, and Exchange will be reduced significantly.

The M365 Education Suite includes both paid and free licenses for staff, students, projects, and alumni. Starting from Feb 2024, each school tenant has only 100TB pooled storage to share, and additional storage will incur significant fees. Therefore, CUHK needs to take proper actions before our next contract renewal in 2026.

Commencing Jun 2025, CUHK members’ OneDrive and Exchange Email storage will be reduced. Details by user group are provided below.
