(Resumed) Microsoft Reported a Small Subsets of Users in China Unable to Access OneDrive / SharePoint Content

Microsoft issued an incident report on 26 Apr 2022 (Tue).

Users Affected Impact is specific to a small subsets of users who are served through the affected infrastructure in China. They could be CUHK staff, students; and also alumni who have opted in @link service

Incident Details Microsoft has determined that a third-party service may be blocking access to SharePoint Online sites. Microsoft had located a third-party ISP in the region blocked a portion of IP space, resulting in impact. In their review of network traces and logs with the third-party Internet Service Provider (ISP) in the region, they’ve validated that a portion of internet protocol (IP) space was blocked, resulting in impact and worked with the ISP to unblock the IP addresses. Finally, they confirmed via extensive monitoring of the environment that unblocking the affected IP addresses resolved the issue.
