ITSC updated the University Software Standards (https://www.itsc.cuhk.edu.hk/all-it/procurement-support/university-software-standards/) recently and here is the summary:

1. Microsoft announced in “Office versions and connectivity to Microsoft 365 services” that Office 2016 & Office 2019 will no longer be supported for their connectivity to Microsoft 365 services after 10 Oct 2023, and Office 2019 will also reach the end of Mainstream Support on the same day. Their use is highly discouraged (a note has been made for category 2. Office Suite and the related outlook versions).
2. Two software are added as an “acceptable software”:
   1. Adobe Acrobat Reader 2020 in category 3. Document Exchange
   2. OpenSSH client in category 9. Secured Shell
