Cause The outage was suspected to be caused by firewall service. Immediate remedial actions had been taken to resume the service. The root cause was still being studied.
Service Affected Users might experience

  • Unstable or loss of network
  • Fail to login and use campus-wide systems such as MyCUHK, E-mail, CUSIS, CUPIS, OnePass, Change Password, etc
Summary To prevent this from occurring in the future, ITSC has

  • Upgraded the software to its latest stable version
  • Continued to be vigilant in monitoring the network performance through additional monitoring tools
  • Worked collaboratively with the firewall support service provider to identify the cause
