    A mailing list is a single email address that points to a number of email addresses. An email sent to a mailing list will be automatically forwarded to members who subscribe the list.

    With this service, you could create, manage or subscribe to a mailing list to ease some frequent email communication with your colleagues/ members.

    1. Creating Mailing List

    Person Responsible: Department head / Department coordinator / Student organization chairperson

    Application Procedures: Send an application form on behalf of the department / student organization to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with a scanned copy of chairperson’s / head’s / coordinator’s CU Link

    Result Notification: A notification email to student organization chairperson / department head / department coordinator within 3 working days

    1. Managing Mailing List

    In a mailing list, there are 3 types of roles with functions as below.

    1. List Administrator, the creator & manager of the list
      • Create a mailing list and have ultimate control over all parameters
      • Manage membership by amending someone’s role in the mailing list and approving / disapproving someone’s membership
      • Control messages by approving / disapproving emails to be sent to the mailing list and authorizing members / non-members to send emails to the mailing list
      • Appoint delegates “Moderators” (not necessarily be list members) to manage the mailing list
    2. Moderators, the manager of the list assigned by List Administrators
      • Manage membership by approving / disapproving someone’s membership
      • Control messages by approving / disapproving emails to be sent to the mailing list and authorizing members / non-members to send emails to the mailing list
    3. Subscribers, the list members
      • Receive messages sent to the mailing list

    1. Subscribing/ Unsubscribing Mailing List

    Subscription
    You can subscribe a mailing list to receive its messages by

    Un-subscription
    You can unsubscribe a mailing list by

    • Contacting the list administrator directly; or
    • Clicking the un-subscription link that found at the bottom while receiving emails sent through the list. A confirmation email will be sent after un-subscription.
