    Office 365 Mail, with 50 GB mailbox, will replace CUHK Webmail as University Staff Email System by the end of 2017. Departments can consider migrating to Office 365 Mail by batches. Once migrated, staff can stop using their department mailboxes, such as CUHK Webmail and Exchange Email Service under ITSC eServices.

    1. Checklists for Switchover from CUHK Webmail to Office 365 Mail

    Before the Switchover

    1. Your LAN Admin / IT Coordinator has helped you to apply for Office 365 Mail migration and coordinate the switchover schedule.
    2. You receive a notification email before ITSC starts creating your Office 365 mailbox.

     

    After the Switchover

    1. You receive another notification email when your Office 365 mailbox is ready.
    2. Your email drop box of This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. is frozen as your Office 365 mailbox (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.). All new emails sent to your This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. will reach Office 365 mailbox.

    3. You can access your new Office 365 mailbox at http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/o365.
    4. Please re-define the mailbox setting in Office 365 e.g. email forwarding rule, signature or etc..
    5. Please log into your CUHK Webmail. You can find a new email forwarding rule. It directs new emails sent to your CUHK Webmail (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) to your Office 365 mailbox (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.).

    6. Please remove other email forwarding rule in your CUHK Webmail but ONLY keep "This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.". Otherwise, some outsider email service may eliminate a forwarded nessage if it is forwarded from CUHK Webmail and Office 365 mailbox simultaneously.
    7. Old emails in CUHK Webmail will NOT be copied to Office 365 mailbox. Please copy them to Office 365.
    8. Your LAN Admin / IT Coordinator will be informed for the completion of the switchover.

     

     

    * For staff having departmental MS Exchange (Outlook) accounts, you should use MS Exchange (Outlook) password to log in Office 365. By changing OnePass password after 12 May, 2016, you can then use OnePass Password to log in here and also departmental MS Exchange (Outlook) email.
